Project: Fire Reinstatement Works
Client: Enfield Council
A contract secured in 2019 to carry out the installation of a new emergency lighting system at 1-124 Tiverton House, Exeter Road, EN3 7TW as part of the Council’s Fire Safety improvement programme.
The property a 13-storey residential building constructed in the 1960’s and located within a predominantly residential area with local retail amenities suffered from ongoing problems as a result of the degradation of the existing aged system. The objective of the project was to provide an emergency lighting system that complied with current British Standards BS5266-1:2016, improved energy efficiency and gave re-assurance to the tenants of the building.
The scope of work comprised the removal of the existing luminaires which were replaced with new LED luminaires permanently energised in the ground floor entrance and lift lobbies on each floor and fitted with microwave presence detection in the stairwells which benefitted from natural daylight.
Works were undertaken with the building in full occupation for the duration of the contract and as Principal Contractor consideration of tenants and neighbouring properties was a priority throughout the contract’s delivery.
Work was completed on time, within budget to the satisfaction of the client, the tenants and Enfield Council’s stakeholders.
