Project: Electrical Installation Upgrade & Replacement of Rising & Lateral Mains
Client: Tower Hamlets Home
A contract awarded in 2019 by Tower Hamlets Homes to upgrade the electrical distribution and replace the rising & lateral mains contained in 2-50 & 19-25 Clark Street, London E1 to comply with current legislation.
The property located within a predominantly residential area with local retail amenities in close proximity formed part of Tower Hamlets Homes Sidney Street South Estate and was constructed in 1974 built using cavity brickwork with cement screed poured concrete floors. The building is four-storey with four individual staircases serving 25 individual dwellings.
The scope of work involved the installation of two new electrical mains distribution boards to replace those in situ which were in poor condition and dangerously exposed to water ingress, the installation of new rising and lateral mains to the individual dwellings and the installation of double pole isolating switches adjacent to the dwelling consumer units.
Works were undertaken whilst remaining in full occupation for the duration of the contract and as Principal Contractor consideration of tenants and neighbouring properties was a priority throughout the contract’s duration.
Work was completed on time and within budget to the satisfaction of the client, the tenants and Tower hamlets Homes stakeholders.
